How to Apply for Admission
- Complete this online application at least thirty days prior to the beginning of the semester. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column.
- Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. Return it with a nonrefundable fee of $25 (check or money order). This fee is not credited to the student's account.
Required Documents
- Record of complete physical exam from a licensed physician on a form furnished by the college including current immunization verification
- Official high school transcript showing date of graduation, class rank, grade point average, and an indication of the TEAMS or TAAS examination pass/fail status
- A minimum of 16 units of high school work (English 3, science 1, social science 3, mathematics 2, electives 7)
- American College Test (ACT) for first time students. Jarvis will administer the test during the week of orientation. Submit SAT I scores in lieu of ACT.
- General Education Development (GED) test for students not graduating from high school
Early Entrance
Exceptional students may enter the college after completing the eleventh grade of secondary school. Candidates must take the ACT by December prior to the year of planned entrance. A letter from the applicant’s high school specifically recommending early admission should accompany the application. Early entrants must have an official transcript and a medical record filed with the college prior to enrollment.
Unaccredited High School Graduates
Graduates from an unaccredited high school may seek conditional admission for one semester to demonstrate their ability to do work of C level or above. All information required of graduates of accredited high schools must be submitted.
Veterans Admissions
Jarvis is approved for the educational training of veterans by the Texas Education Agency under the G.I. Bill of Rights. Application for certification of eligibility and entitlement should be made as soon as possible to insure payment of subsistence. All admissions requirements must be met. Required VA forms: Application (V.A. Form 22-1900); Separation Papers (DD214); Dependency evidence (Marriage certificate, birth certificate, divorce decrees, etc.)
Foreign Students
- Application for admission
- Application fee of $25
- Official record verifying graduation from a secondary school or equivalent. Certificates customary to the area of the applicant’s residence should be a part of the official document with official translation if documents are in a language other than English.
- Evidence of English proficiency as recorded by the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score competency based on a score of 500. (Further proof of competency may be based on the completion of Level 9 in the study of English as a Foreign Language in an American English Center.)
- ACT score for students from English speaking countries
- Medical record
- Documentation of financial solvency affidavit of support
- Deposit of $5,000 before arrival
- Sufficient currency, over and above that deposited with the college for personal use
Nonmatriculating Students
Persons who are not candidates for a degree, but wish to take advantage of the opportunities provided by Jarvis may be admitted as special students. The requirements and procedures for regular admission apply.
Transfer Students
Students transferring from a regionally accredited junior college, technical institute, college, or university must submit information required of graduates of accredited or unaccredited high schools. Official transcripts from each institution of higher learning attended and a statement of honorable dismissal from the last one attended is also required. Full credit will be given for courses transferred from accredited institutions of higher learning. Students transferring from unaccredited junior colleges, technical institutes, colleges, or universities must submit the information required above. Full credit may be given for courses transferred from unaccredited institutions, but students must validate their work by completing 12 semester hours in residence at Jarvis before transfer credits are accepted at full value.
Former Students
Students in good standing who remain out of the college for one semester must resubmit an application for admission, medical records, and official transcript(s) from other institutions attended. Students on academic suspension may reapply at the end of their period of separation with a written request 30 days prior to the semester of reentry. Students dismissed for disciplinary reasons should apply to the Office of Student Affairs for case review before reapplying.

How to Use the Jarvis Christian College Online Application
|
To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from
the popup lists (where applicable).
After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left
column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current
screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct
your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to
skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function
on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.
Once you have completed the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the
application.
