Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnerships (LEAP)
- For residents or nonresidents
- For undergraduates or graduates enrolled at least half time
- For students attending public or private colleges in Texas
- Students can't be in default on a student loan
- Students can't owe a refund on a student grant
- Males must meet draft registration requirements
- Maximum award is the lesser of the student's need or $1,250
Obtain application guidelines through your college financial aid office.
Tuition Equalization Grant Program (TEG)
- For residents and National Merit Scholarship finalists
- For undergraduates or graduates enrolled at least half time
- For students attending independent colleges in Texas
- Students may not major in theology or religion
- Students may not receive athletic scholarships
- Maximum award is the lesser of the student's need or $3,380
Obtain application guidelines at the college financial aid office at a participating nonprofit independent college or university in Texas.
Toward EXcellence Access and Success (TEXAS) Grant Program
- For residents with financial need
- For students who graduated no earlier than the 1998-99 school year
- For students who completed the recommended or distinguished achievement high school curriculum
- For students who enroll in a Texas college or university as a freshman within 16 months of high school graduation
- Students must be enrolled for at least three quarters of a full course load and must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Amount of grant depends on the number of hours the student is taking
