| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
Southwestern Christian College, one of America's historically black institutions that was founded in 1949, is located in the city of Terrell in Central Texas. Southwestern is an accredited liberal arts college committed to the advancement and development of young people; in fact all people. It champions the utopian ideals of aspiring toward a unique community where young people of all ethnic backgrounds, races, and even religious orientations come celebrate uniqueness in community. Thus, Southwestern exists bearing multicultural emphasis superimposed against a historically black backdrop. The college's nature is best described by the term "intimate." SWCC is an intimate community committed to the growth of her affiliates: intimate classes where instructors respond to students directly, an intimate staff who collaboratively refine their effectiveness, an intimate administration that collectively exceeds a century of insight, and an intimate student body who welcome uniqueness. |

| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
Southwestern Christian College meets the challenges of a modern Christian college; enveloping a broader range of youth, celebrating separateness while encouraging interdependence, embracing increasingly diverse student populations, teaching students to live in the reality-based social system of difference, and equipping students with the academic, socioemotional, and spiritual skills. These skills empower students to identify, assess, interpret, and engage with our mundane world, yet be guided by higher, loftier ideals about life and living. SWCC offers courses in Bible-related subjects, humanities, social science, natural science, physical education, developmental studies, and business/office administration. |
