2007-2008 APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Thank you for your interest in Dallas Baptist University!

We welcome applications from any individual seeking a Christian education with high academic standards.

In addition to the genuine motivation for study, the applicant's maturity, integrity, and attitude are all taken into consideration by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The university's desire is for students to come to DBU for an education and not just for a degree.

The university reserves the right to restrict or deny admission to any applicant who is not considered to be an appropriate admissions candidate as determined by the university.

These admission decisions will be made in a manner consistent with state and federal nondiscrimination laws.


Application Requirements

FRESHMAN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The following must be submitted by all freshman applicants:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. A nonrefundable $25 application fee.
  3. A 250-word essay (typewritten) relating why the applicant would like to attend Dallas Baptist University.
  4. Official high school transcript or official GED scores.
  5. Official scores of either the ACT or the SAT.

*Applicants who have permanent resident alien status in the United States must also fulfill the requirements listed under Other Applicants.


TRANSFER ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Students with transfer credit who apply to DBU must submit the following:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. A nonrefundable $25 application fee.
  3. A 250-word essay (typewritten) relating why the applicant would like to attend Dallas Baptist University.
  4. Official transcripts of all previous college work.
  5. Applicants with less than 30 hours of college credit must furnish high school transcripts or official GED scores and official scores of either the ACT or SAT.

*Applicants who have permanent resident alien status in the United States must also fulfill the requirements listed under Other Applicants.


ADULT EDUCATION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The following must be submitted by all adult education applicants:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. A non-refundable $25 application fee.
  3. A 250-word essay (typewritten) relating why the applicant would like to attend Dallas Baptist University.
  4. Official transcripts of all previous college work.
  5. Applicants with less than 30 hours of acceptable college credit must furnish high school transcripts or official GED scores and official scores of either the ACT or SAT.

*Applicants who have permanent resident alien status in the United States must also fulfill the requirements listed under Other Applicants.

How to Use the Dallas Baptist University Online Application

To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the application.
